The Rogue Armour or Moxton's Mistake is an artificial Drood armour which a former Armourer, Moxton, designed to act on it´s own in the field, remotely controlled by a Drood field agent. Unfortunately, it developed it´s own consciousness and went ballistic, beginning with swallowing up Moxton who made the first test with his prototype. It turned out that the Armour was much stronger than the normal Drood armour, so the Family struggled to get it under control and by doing so the Mistake killed a lot of agents. Luckily, somebody trapped it in a stasis field and stopped the rampage.
After that, the Droods tried to free Moxton out of the Armour but nobody found a way, so they had no other choice than to leave him trapped. Knowing the stasis field wouldn't hold long, the Family build the maze and imprisoned the rogue Armour and Moxton inside it as another way of securing the Drood Hall.
Even though the Armour was caught and couldn't escape, it tried to find a way outside and it´s hatred for the Droods and the desire of murdering it´s jailers grew.
Until Eddy Drood went into the maze in order to find the last existing Drood armour. Eddy freed the Armour and made a deal that it would serve him as long as he needed it, but Moxton's Mistake slowly changed his personality and made him more brutal, crueler and colder. Eddy and the Armour destroyed the mechanism that held the Armour inside and got free. But before somebody could get inside, it vomited the body of Moxton and than slipped over the last Drood and into his torc.
But the original traitor ripped the rogue Armour of Edwin and suited it onto himself. Unfortunately for him, the Mistake still had a grudge against the Drood and so it folded itself with the traitor inside to a little cube and killed him. After leaving Eddy´s torc, Molly Metcalf created a torc by herself and suited the rogue Armour inside of it.
Even though she tried to protect herself, Molly got taken over by the Armour and was saved by Eddy by using one of the Armourer's clickers. The rogue Armour was left behind in an alien dimension.
Abillities and Looks:[]
Moxton's Mistake had much more strength and speed than a normal Drood armour and could even send out waves of telekinetic energy. It could See in almost every dimension, sensing even Eddy´s ghost when he was dead. It could change it´s shape to almost everything. It spoke with normal human voice directly inside one´s head. Edwin described the feeling when the Armour slippped over him as an inhuman coldness that reached right into his soul.
The Armour looked like an animalistic creature with too long legs and arms, with heavy gauntlets in place of hands and feet shaped like boots. It also sported visible joints and glowing eyes.
When it covered Eddy, it changed to a more human form but still had the heavy gauntlets and boots. It´s mask was now completely blank like other Drood armours and had nearly featureless body, although it still looked a little bit like an animal and it´s movements were a little strange too.
Molly´s version was much more human and had her female features highlighted, but the gauntlets and boots remained.
